True Friend

A friend is like peace
Turbulent yet unruffled
A friend is like hope
Prisoned yet free
A friend is like trust
Strong yet brittle
A friend is like love
Faithful yet deceptive.
But if friendship hath lost its love
Tis like the tyrants will its coffers fill
Burning and ravaging all the meek in 'twixt
No fear nor dread will care
The heavens aboves will mourn in despair
Nothing like friendship gone astray!
